Kindergarten Math Activity: Fun With Addition Worksheets

Working on addition this spring? Keep math prep to a minimum with these free addition worksheets. We’ve included number problems with picture clues, a fun adding and coloring activity, and adding numbers to make 10.

Learning to understand mathematical operations is a skill that children develop over several years. It starts to develop before most children come to school and we have the joy of helping children hone their abilities and build a solid foundation in math.

One of the first mathematical operations children learn is that of addition. As I’m sure you know it takes loads of practice for young learners to master this skill.

We’ve put together three fun addition worksheets to help your students practice. All three sheets have a spring theme, but the pictures are fairly generic, so they can probably be used at any time.

FREE ADDITION WORKSHEETS

The first sheet uses picture clues to help the children practice adding two numbers together. These clues help children see and solve problems. It is perfect for young learners just starting to do addition.

The second page of this printable set encourages children to practice their number facts up to 10. It includes a number line for those who still need a little extra help.

The last page is a fun adding and coloring activity for more advanced learners. Students add up the numbers on each kite and then color the kites according to the number code. This is perfect for students who have moved beyond the basics and need to practice. Again there is a number line included for those that need it.
