Arctic Animals Virtual Field Trip

Looking for a way to get an up-close and personal look at some arctic animals without leaving the classroom? Try doing an arctic animals virtual field trip! Taking field trips is one of the best parts of kindergarten! However; it’s not always possible to go and explore everything you want, especially when a lot of schools are doing distance learning. An arctic animal unit is so fun, but hard (or impossible) to actually visit any of these animals in person! Taking an arctic animals virtual field trip is the perfect solution! We’ve gathered some of the best videos and resources we could find for you!

Arctic Animal Virtual Field Trip Videos

This video, “10 Arctic Animals for Kids” is a great introduction to learning about all the different arctic animals! Only 6 and a half minutes long, and gives fun facts about each of the 10 animals.

This video/read-aloud has some incredible views of the arctic tundra! You’ll feel like you’re really there! Not only does it talk about different arctic animals, but there are also some fun facts about arctic plants.

Google Earth View of the Arctic

Google Earth views are amazing for exploring places you can’t actually go to in person! There are seven different areas in Manitoba, Canada to explore! Learn how they observe polar bears and arctic foxes in this stretch of the arctic! Click here to go to this Google Earth view!

If you want to show your students another section of the arctic, this is a great view of some of the landscape. You can zoom out to show them the whole area that is considered! Click here for that view!

Polar bears are probably one of the most well-known arctic animals! Watching them on a live cam is perfect for a virtual field trip to learn more about their natural habitat and how they act in the wild. Click here to go right to that live cam!

Beluga whales are so beautiful and fun. They’re usually really active so watching this live cam is sure to be a treat for your students! Head here to see them right away!
