DIY Snowman Bank
I love finding ways to reuse containers and bottles. This DIY snowman bank is the perfect way to reuse those coffee creamer bottles! This craft is great for all ages and doesn’t require a lot of time or supplies! Our kindergarten students use these as banks each December during our Holiday Workshop. They are always a big hit with the students and parents!
Items that you need:
-Coffee creamer bottle
-Hot glue gun or craft glue
It can take a while to collect enough creamer bottles for the whole class so definitely ask families and friends to send them your way! We got all of our items ready and were very excited to make our snowmen banks! We started by rinsing out the coffee creamer bottles and removing the label. Students picked out their favorite buttons and glued them on to the bottle. They added two eyes right below the cap! I helped students cut a scarf out of the felt. The bundled their snowman up and added a little glue to secure the scarf. They used orange paper (or felt) to cut out a carrot nose and attached that to the bottle. Finally they drew dots to create a mouth. The top of the bottle will serve as the snowman’s cap. It also has a great slot for putting the coins into the bank.
You can customize this DIY snowman bank anyway you would like, the possibilities are endless. You can fill the bottle with cotton balls for an extra snowy look or attach twigs for arms. Use your imagination to create the perfect snowman or let students explore your Makers Space area for extra inspiration!
This craft sets students up for a snowman writing piece.
