Nonfiction Panda Activities

I don’t know many kids who don’t love going to the movies, and so when cool movies come out like Kung Fu Panda I can’t help but find ways to weave the pop culture into my classroom!  I have found over the years that kids love learning about nonfiction and so  I thought it would be a great time for some free Nonfiction Panda Activities for the release of King Fu Panda 3!

Talking about movies and cartoons is really a great way to compare and contrast what is fiction and what is nonfiction with your kids.  Do pandas really know how to do kung fu?  What can panda’s really do?  These activities will help you build up the conversation so you can have rich conversations with them about what is real and what is not.

How fun would it be to do the nonfiction part first and then look for pieces of the movie that are actually nonfiction!  Kids would feel so smart to be able to see those differences.  (I added a compare and contrast page for the movie in the download.)

Whether the kids go see the movie or not, they most likely will see commercials or in this case may have seen one of the previous versions of the movie and so the excitement can really help you create some engagement in your classroom.
