Teacher Approved Growth Mindset Videos

Teaching growth mindset is an important and valuable tool in any classroom. Students can greatly benefit from explicit instruction on how to develop a growth mindset to carry on to any activity or struggle. We’ve compiled a list of growth mindset videos to help teachers and students!

Talking about Growth Mindset in kindergarten can be tricky but we have you covered with this Teacher Approved Growth Mindset Videos List.  These videos talk about what exactly growth mindset is and give you some great examples for the different concepts it covers.  All are quick in length so you can easily work them into your lesson and content appropriate for your early childhood learners.

THIS ACTIVITY WORKS WELL WITH

Growth Mindset for Students – Episode 1 by Class Dojo (2:35)

This is a great little video explaining to kids your brain is a muscle.  “You give your brain the exercise it needs to make you smarter.”  This is a great one for explaining exactly what Growth Mindset is.

Developing a Growth Mindset by Mineola Creative Content (5:37)

This is a great (and technical) video to explain Growth Mindset.  It talks about your brain but it has lots of connections that your students will relate to.

Perseverance for Students – Class Dojo (4:19)

This is another fun Class Dojo about working hard and not giving up. This is a great example of growth and fixed mindset.  It explains every challenge is like a journey and how sometimes you feel you must quit.  This does a great job of explaining that dip in a way kids will understand.  The video ends with a question so you can discuss it with your class.

Empathy for Students by Class Dojo (4:43)

Another great Class Dojo video.  Mojo’s behavior causes some anger with his friends and he learns a lesson on empathy.  The video ends asking the students what they think happens so it leads to great discussions.

A Pep Talk from Kid President to You  by Soul Pancake (3:27)

Love this kid!  He definitely has a Growth Mindset.  “It’s like that dude in Journey said, don’t stop believing.”  He talks about not quitting and telling everyone THIS IS OUR TIME.  “If we are on the same team, let’s start acting like it.”  Love, love, love him!

Sesame Street – Bruno Mars Don’t Give Up (1:57)

This is a fun catchy tune about not giving up, trying again, and not quitting. It has lots of examples you can talk about too. I know that Sesame Street is a little young for kinders, but this tune is one of my favorites!

The Power of Yet by Janelle Monae (2:41)

This is all about the word yet.  “There is no mountain you can’t climb.”  I know that Sesame Street is a little young for kinders, but this tune is another one of my favorites!

What I Am by Will.i.am (1:51)

Could not talk Growth Mindset without this great song too!  This is great for all year long!
