Kindergarten students LOVE read-aloud books! I mean, don’t we all? That’s why we have compiled a list of some of the best Mother’s Day Books that you can read to your class this year. We’ve made sure to include books to celebrate ALL the different moms in your students’ lives. Keep reading to find out more!
Celebrating Mother’s Day can be difficult for some students if they don’t have that person in their lives. That’s why we wanted to make sure we have lots of books to meet the needs of EVERY student. All of these books are age-appropriate for preschool, kindergarten, and first grade, and your students are sure to love them!

This book, Mother’s Day Surprise, is a cute animal book where different animals work on presents for their moms. We like it because it teaches them some fun facts about what animals like in addition to the Mother’s Day element!
The Best Mother will help your students appreciate the exact mother THEY have, as this girl explores the idea that a new mother might be better than the one she has. She realizes that’s not the case though!
What’s great about this book is that it talks about ALL structures of families: mom & dad, siblings, and only children, stepparents, grandparents, adoption, two moms, etc. All Families are Special is read by a child so it is a little long at 12 minutes, but it is the perfect pace for your students!
