I love to use holiday-themed activities throughout the year. It’s a fun way to celebrate the holiday and my students always love the new, themed activities. These Pumpkin Pie Counting Clip Cards are not only an easy and interactive way for children to practice counting and identifying numbers, but they will also work on developing their fine motor skills too.

How To Use The Pumpkin Pie Counting Clip Cards:
Supplies:
- Pumpkin Pie Counting Clip Cards
- White Card Stock
- Printer
- Laminator
- Laminating Pouches
- Paper Cutter or Scissors
- Clothes Pins
To prepare this activity, print these Pumpkin Pie Counting Clip Cards on white card stock. I recommend laminating the cards for extra durability too. Then, you can use either a paper cutter or scissors to cut the cards apart.
I always store my clip cards and clothespins in a small container such as a pencil box or pencil pouch. It’s an easy and inexpensive math activity to prepare and always ready to go when you need it in your classroom.
Directions:
To begin this activity, children will select a clip card and count the number of dots that are in the ten frames that the turkey is holding. They will then place a clothespin on the number that matches. Students continue counting from 1 to 10 and clipping the cards until they have clipped all of them.
You can draw a dot on the back of the card on the correct answer. This way students can easily flip it over to check if their answer is correct.
These Pumpkin Pie Counting Clip Cards are a fun, Thanksgiving-themed activity and a hands-on way to practice counting and identifying numbers. This simple, low-prep activity is perfect to use as a math warm-up at the beginning of class, during small guided math groups, or to put out at a math station.
