Our Turkey in Disguise activities have you covered in the classroom AND encourage collaboration at home. Students will enjoy disguising a turkey with the help of family and you will end up with a smile-worthy bulletin board display. Many other activities included in this set will provide student engagement at school.
Your students and families will laugh together as they come up with the perfect disguise for their turkey. The easy-to-use, editable family letter explains the project to families and lets them know when to return the project to school.
Print a letter and turkey template for each child to take home. Students will return their turkey on the designated day. There will be lots of excitement as students unveil their turkey disguises. This creates the best bulletin board display and will spark lots of conversation.
You can choose to complete turkey disguise activities in class if you decide not to send home the family project. Or complete classroom activities in addition to the take-home project. You can never have too much turkey fun!
Students always enjoy creating and wearing hats. The turkey in disguise hat will have your students giggling their way into Thanksgiving break. Our set comes with premade disguises that students can choose from or students can design their own disguises.
There are several writing activities to choose from in this set. We suggest pairing the turkey writing prompt with the take home disguise project. This can be completed at school when students return their disguised turkeys.
Turkeys can also be disguised at school using premade templates and then write a sentence using one of our differentiated writing prompts or sentence starters.
Turkey disguise activities can be kept low prep by completing one of the turkey printables. Students choose a disguised turkey and glue it onto their chosen printable. There are several fun options if choosing to go this route.
The turkey job application and the wanted poster would still allow for turkey disguise fun if time doesn’t allow for a more involved family project.
Vocabulary activities will support students as they write about their disguised turkeys. You can incorporate the vocabulary activities into your writing center or pair them with any of the writing activities in this set.
