As early childhood teachers, we know our classroom are filled with GERMS and so hand washing is so important. And so here is a reader you can do wit your students to talk about the steps.

This book works well with these Simply Kinder resources:

Hand washing is so important but we all know our preschool, kindergarten, and first grade students need the details on how to do it adequately.

The steps include:

  1. Wet your hands.
  2. Put soap on your hands.
  3. Scrub your hands on the front and back.
  4. Scrub your fingers.
  5. Rinse your hands.
  6. Dry your hands.

Of course, you can go GREATLY into detail on each of those steps. The concepts you want to cover when talking about school germs with your students are:

  • washing your hands often
  • not touching your face
  • staying home when you are sick
  • covering with your elbow when you sneeze
  • having appropriate personal space

Our School Germs No Prep Activities (Simply Kinder, TpT) and School Germs Easy Readers (Simply Kinder, TpT) are both loaded with activities to help you have those conversations with your students.

Thank you for the reader! I claim I’m a human Kleenex (I’m in a k-5 SPED class) and I hope this helps me to not be one. 🙂
