I love to use holiday themed activities throughout the year. It’s a fun way to celebrate the holiday and my students always love the new, themed activities. These Pumpkin Pie Counting Clip Cards are not only an easy and interactive way for children to practice counting and identifying numbers, but they will also work on developing their fine motor skills too.

I always store my clip cards and clothes pins in a small container such as a pencil box or pencil pouch. It’s an easy and inexpensive math activity to prepare and always ready to go when you need it in your classroom.

Directions:

To begin this activity, children will select a clip card and count the number of dots that are in the ten frame that the turkey is holding. They will then place a clothes pin on the number that matches.  Students continue counting from 1 to 10 and clipping the cards until they have clipped all of them.

You can draw a dot on the back of the card on the correct answer. This way students can easily flip it over to check if their answer is correct.
