Free Editable Fingerprint Tree
Finding ways to thank those who have volunteered in your class can be a tricky thing. We are teachers so our funds are limited and yet we want to give them something meaningful! Thus we have – Fingerprint Trees! And I have just made it much easier for you with this adorable Fingerprint Tree Printable that is fully editable!
This item is free in my Teachers Pay Teachers store. I give you two options – depending on if you are putting it in a 8 by 10 frame or a 8.5 by 11 frame. After you decided, you will edit the pages to say what you want (you must have PowerPoint to do this.) Now you are ready to fingerprint your students!
I start by putting the child’s finger in some paint. I then test the fingerprint on the paper, because it’s important to me to that the fingerprints all look fairly the same! I will also do multiple trees at a time so that way each child is only doing this once.
You might be thinking, what exactly is the rest of my class doing when I am making these? Well, to be honest, they are doing centers! It’s important that we take time our to recognize our volunteers so they feel want to come back! And I can get these done in one center period so it does not bother me one bit! {The alternative would be having a volunteer do them with the students but I just think it’s tacky to have our volunteers make their own gifts!}
Student Self-Portrait Poster
I also have one other gift that I just love!! This was made for me by my cooperating teacher while I was in college and it has been placed above my desk at every single school I have been at! Basically, she took a poster from the teaching store, placed a piece of paper behind it, and had the kids write their name and draw a self portrait! Lastly, she put it in a frame. Isn’t it beautiful?
