It’s March and that means an author study for Theodor Geisel. It’s a great time to read all books Seuss and many schools accompany it with some fun activities. One activity this year is a door decorating contest. And so we wanted to share our door with you that matches the book Oh, The Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss.
Here is a closer look at the little people flying through the air. We took their picture against a fairly solid wall. Then we cut them out. No need for a green screen or crazy photo editing software here. We then gave each child a balloon and let them paint them. This was a preschool class so we cut them out for the kids. To attach to our wall, we taped them on because our door is metal. We added some creases for depth.
The rest of the door was literally thrown together. The paper is one white piece from the workroom that does not fix exactly The words are from some cutouts we had. The hills are color cardstock taped together and cut into the right shapes.
And if you are looking for some easy to implement activities, our Read and Rhyme America unit is the perfect mix of nonsense words, CVC words, numbers to 120, vocabulary, and so much more! There is even a write the room your students will love. Click here to check it out.
