Thankful Class Book
This easy-to-prep thankful class book is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, or first-grade students! Just print, demonstrate, and have students write and color!
Have each student fill out the thankful page and then staple them together into a book. Add the cover using card stock – I like to have a few students work together to color the cover. Then we bind the book and put it into our library so students can read everyone’s thankful story.
Includes a variety of different writing options including sentences starters, dashed lines, blank pages, and a cover to color or in color so you don’t have to worry about it.
I love making class books. Students love reading each other’s pages. Sometimes I will make them into coloring books too. To do that you have students draw their pictures in black crayons only. Then I will put all the books together and then they can color everyone else’s pictures in their own copy to take home! It’s lots of fun and super easy to pull off.
What does it mean to be thankful? Watch this video here to help students generate ideas:
Following the video, you can generate ideas as a class and document them on chart paper! This is great for students that get stuck coming up with ideas on their own!
Or partner students up so they can think-pair-share their ideas!
Incorporate time for author sharing at the end so students can show off their writing to the class (if they so choose)!
