Tips for Getting Started

You will need access to the photos and videos taken during the school year. It is easiest to collect them from one folder or location (Dropbox, Google Drive). This will help save time from scrolling through your camera roll and searching for photos as you’re creating the slideshow.

We suggest creating a folder for this specific slideshow to narrow down the pictures you will include. You want to make sure that each student is represented equally in the slideshow. A good tip is to choose 2-3 individual pictures of each child and mix in several whole/small group photos. Students love pointing out their pictures while viewing the slideshow!

Decide how you want the slideshow to flow. Do you want to start at the beginning of the school year and work your way to the end? Do you want to have a random mixture of photos? There is no right or wrong answer. Students and families will love reminiscing about the school year.

Slideshow Platforms

There are many platforms for creating an end of the year slideshow. Check out some apps below that are easy to use.

  • Movavi: Photo & Video Editor
  • PicPlayPost: Video Editor
  • Videoshop – Video Editor
  • MoShow Slideshow Maker Video
  • Splice – Video Editor & Maker

These apps are convenient to use on your mobile device. These apps offer a free trial so you can test out the platform. Simply name your project and get started.

You can upload photos directly from your phone and add them to your slideshow. Add any music or special effects that you’d like to include. Adjust the length of the slideshow to work for the event in which it will be viewed. Download your creation and add it to your Google Drive for easy access.

Most smartphones allow you to create a slideshow from selected photos in your camera roll. This is a great option if you want to keep it simple.
