Presidents’ Day Research Report & Craft

Take a deeper look at George Washington & Abraham Lincoln and the holiday that honors them with research reports and crafts.

  • Begin with a close reading passage about each president. Students can highlight important facts as you go through the passage.
  • Record information students learn about each president on a class anchor chart or individual organizers.
  • Students will fill out a graphic organizer using details they found to be the most interesting about each president.
  • Students will use their graphic organizer to complete a research report.
  • Finish the research reports by completing an adorable craft of each president.
  • Share and display the research reports once completed.

Your kindergarten students can do this!!! Do it together and talk through the process again and again and eventually they will be able to do most of it on their own! You will be amazed at the reports they can write by the end of the year when you use these units!
