Do you students love Easter eggs? Every year, my kindergarteners get so excited over all of our Easter themed activities especially the ones with Easter eggs. This year, I added these Easter Egg CVC Puzzles to our center rotation. This activity is a fun and hands-on way for children to practice reading CVC words and matching the word to the picture.
How To Prepare The Easter Egg CVC Puzzles:
• Easter Egg CVC Puzzles
• White Paper or Card Stock
To set-up this literacy activity, print the Easter Egg CVC Puzzles (click on the button below to download and print) on white paper or card stock. Then, laminate the puzzles for extra durability and cut the pieces apart.
How To Use The Easter Egg CVC Puzzles:
To begin playing, your students will select a puzzle piece with a CVC word and read the word. They will then find the puzzle piece with the picture of the word and match the two pieces together to make an Easter Egg.
These Easter Egg CVC Puzzles are perfect for Kindergarteners but can also be used as an intervention tool for older students. This word work activity is great for literacy centers, small group instruction, or as an enrichment activity for early finishers. You can either combine all of the puzzle pieces together or divided them up by the medial sound to differentiate the activity. When I divide the puzzles up, I put them in small plastic bags (like a Zip-loc) or pencil pouches. Each student in the center group can work on his or her own puzzles and a different medial sound.
You can also add these Easter Egg CVC Puzzles to a sensory bin with some Easter grass, plastic eggs, mini erasers, or any other Easter decoration for a center activity that your students are sure to love.
